    You really think that? I wonder where all the Tacomas on car carriers coming north, (across the border into California from Baja, Mexico) are headed then? Tundras maybe, but not Tacomas... not all Tacomas.

    Yeah. As stated earlier - a big chunk of double cab v6 tacomas are produced in Mexico along with the majority of the beds for all models.

    How do we know where our truck was made?
    Can we just plug in our VIN online or something?

    Just look at the info sticker or the inside of your driver side door opening.

    This discussion is no longer fun now that Toyota's running a Tundra commercial talking about it.

    I'm a little late to the party, but I drove a new F-150 a while back as a rental and I must say I wasn't that impressed. The interior felt very cheap, it just seemed to me like it wouldn't last very long. Granted the rental was pretty much a base F-150. The grille on the new F-150s are pieces of crap. The grille is nothing but a piece of plastic riveted to the hood. The couple of times I popped the hood, I thought the grille was going to snap when I closed it.

    As far as available options go, you have to keep in mind that the F-150 just went through a total redesign, while the current incarnation of the Tacoma has been around since 05. I imagine that when the next generation of Tacoma's are announced, you will see many of the same options available. If Toyota sees a market for a $40,000 Tacoma. Keep in mind that the F-150 can have a price tag of $50,000+.

    hahahaa Alll tacos are made in the U.S. but

    1- 4 = USA
    2= Canada
    3= Mexico
    J= Japan
    K= Korea
    S= England
    W= Germany
    Z= Italy

    So not all tocos are made in the u.s. Only if the vin starts with 1 or 4

    :facepalm:

    I wish someone would close this thread. The title of the thread is not "Where is YOUR tacoma made?" It's a general question about all tacomas. Which has been answered in this thread at least 10 times now.

    According to the information on the door sticker my 2011 SR5 DC LB was built 09/2010 in Mexico.... Wish it was San Antonio but it is what it is.

    Mine says Baja California, which in fact is not in California. Kind of misleading.
