Blend Mount is in, thanks @Gregw138 for the suggestion. It looks good and the installation was a snap:

What are you all setting your SG to read? Which readouts are the most valuable?

Anyone get the torque converter state to report? There is a Toyota-specific code for it on ScanGauge's site, but it doesn't work on the Tacoma.

Hope it works. Just noticed that those codes work on a 3g. Hope they’re good for yours as well.

Do you find the the scanguage forces you to lower the mirror and consequently blocking your view through the windshield?

The blend mount worked well in my escape, but in my taco, i think takes up too much space, forcing me to move the mirror down.

It does block a my view a bit. I'd say the "annoyance factor" is about a 4.5 on a scale of 1-10.

More annoying is that the LCD is a bit washed out and hard to read without taking off my sunglasses to actually read the transmission temps.

I'd say in all honesty that if I were to do this again I'd probably pass on this location. Too bad the manufacturer of the "A" pillar mount doesn't make them for the 3rd generation, I think that would be my (now that I know better) preferred location.

Thanks for the feedback.. I have a roll of that EZ-Pass mounting stuff, and was thinking of just tucking it above the inductive cell phone charging bay (which I don't really use for anything) below the climate controls and be done with it. I want to preserve my view of the world as much as possible.

Stock with a camper shell for now.
These gauges are pretty cool, are they as simple as plugging into your OBD 2 plug? Also what can you program it to monitor? Looks like trans temp for sure what else?
