Santa brought me that and a whip. Not sure where to mount it yet, I got the compact Cobra one. This interior is a tough one to add things in like that.. I want it to look like it is supposed to be there and not shitty. Will post pics here when I install it, just looking to see if anyone else has yet?

Best 2 options I've thought of: In the console, which I won't do because I want the storage. Best one is 2 the left of the steering wheel above the buttons where there is a little pocket. Might require a little cutting but I am also not sure if it can go deep enough because of what's behind that.

I do not want to do any cutting im thinking of mounting the side of the charging cubby on the passenger side. or inside the center console.

Oh yeah I was thinking of doing that area and mounting it with a sticky pad or Velcro to avoid any drilling

    We have matching trucks.
I have been kind of wanting to put a CB in my truck but the first day reading the manual is says Page 9.

"Be sure to check with dealer for precautionary measures for CB intalation" Due to messing up fuel injection, cruise, ABS, SRS, Seat Belts. My question is a CB that hard on all the electronics?

I was unaware of this since I have no CB experience but that's good information to know. I'd like to hear from others about their experiences.

I don't know if it really is a problem or if Toyota just don't want you tapping into wrong wire?

Why not just hand-held? If you plan on using a mag-mount antenna, you aren't losing much to a portable.

I'm planning on mounting two radios — a CB (Uniden PRO520XL) and Amateur 2m (an Icom something-or-other). My initial plan, when it was just the 2m, was to install in the center console, but changing or confirming the channel there was going to be a PITA. My newer plan was to mount on the driver side of the center console just forward of the seat, near the floor.

Now that I've decided I also want CB capabilities, I have no idea where I'm going to put the radios. And not just the unit — where to put the mics too... Just need to go out and stare at the truck for a while.

I'd love to see anyone else's set-ups to get inspiration.

Ended up having mine installed in the center console. Still some work to do with microphone cable routing, but you get the idea.

I mounted mine on the back of the console. Same as I had it in my Gen 1. Not ideal, but I sit back far enough it doesn't take much to turn and see. Siren/light control amp is under the driver seat. Handheld control just slides in next to hand brake. (Don't mind the mess, I'm in my truck 12 hours a day)

I got mine installed on the passanger side of the QI charging system. My "Industrial strength" Velcro keeps falling off and it looks like shit. I like that idea behind the cupholder on the rear seats though. May reroute mine. I'll post pics when I get it fully complete and it stays attached for while I am offroading..

Been thinking about this too. I'm a Ham radio operator, wanted to put a 2m/440 rig somewhere. I also use it for my volunteer fire dept use well. Does that antenna mount go into the stock rail system?
