    The previous generations have c channel frames which can cause the frame to bend with heavier stuff in the back like adding a swingout bumper. 4th gens are boxed in frames.

    Ah gotcha, the guy that built mine was able to tie in to the bedsides pretty well which made the bed pretty rigid when it was all tightened up but I hadn’t considered any stress on the frame

    Nice. Also, I think the hitch being tied in the frame makes it strong.
