Carfax is a good place to start, you can also plug your VIN into Toyota's website to get an idea what's been done/needs to be done recall wise.

Sure, there are lots of them. The most popular and, most expensive respectively, are carfax and autocheck. I would recommend you other NMVTIS data resellers like https://trustvin.com or https://dmvdesk.com/reports-2/nmvtis/ as they are much cheaper and provide almost the same information.
