Hmm......I really like that one. Looks like it's totally out of the way. I might have to steal that idea and redo mine. I have that same microphone for my Pioneer AVH-P3300BT.

I didn't read your post carefully enough. I dont have a backup cam, so I don't have that wire cover.

I put mine just beside the top left hand corner of the Metra kit. I just ran the wire at the seam between the panel and the vent and mounted it to the vent, not the Metra kit. It works really well there for the people trying to hear me on a call. The windows open doesn't affect the sound quality.

Debadged tailgate - Limo tinted windows - Sockmonkey bed decals - Fully custom upgraded stereo 9 speakers w/custom built subwoofer box 1200 watts total power - swapped white and blue LED gauges - integrated backup camera - removed front mud flaps - All interior lights swapped with LEDS
I used a rubber grommet with the center hole a little smaller than the mic so its pressed in with a tight fit. Drilled a hole in cover and stuck wire through behind dash and to my hu.

I have heard that the whole microphone needs to be exposed, not just the "face" to get proper sound quality.
