    Am i missing something?
I have a 2000 Tacoma with the 2.7l 4cyl engine and I cant figure out how to change the plug wires or where the coil packs are. I bought a set of wires that were to match but the wires in the truck are not typical wires. The wires coming from the plugs are small and run into a wire duct on the firewall. I am getting a misfire trouble code, that is the reason for wanting to replace the wires.

Grey wire MOD, deck plate, diff breather MOD, 2nd gen. OME 883# on Tundra 5100's, OMD custom 3" leafsprings, rear shock relocation, Ivan Stewart TRD rims w/285/75/16's, '02 bumper MOD, Famous Fabrications sliders , LED interior/exterior lights, bed bar, Custom tube bumper, Old school KC day lighters,Red Ring 8" HID flood, Kenwood vhf 2M.. umm some other shit I'm forgetting right now
The coilpacks are located in front passengerside of engine almost below the radiator hose on top. Are you sure about trouble code ? If so, look for a split some where in the ducting that the wires dissappear into so you can separate it. But before you do anything make careful note of the wires & there location, which wire to which cylinder so on (kinda of a no-brainer there) Maybe get with the tech forum here and download some manual pages to your year & type. Good Luck:cool:

The 2001 Tacoma with the 2.7 only has ignition coils attached to the boot covering each spark plug, so there isn't any wires for you to replace. Hope this helps.
