Yes, that's pretty much the idea. To each his own.

A 2nd supporter myself and a shooter, I agree. I would logically assume there are far more ill prepared and inexperienced card carrying testosterone fueled gun carriers than well trained and mentally prepared ones. The conversations I often hear or read scare the hell out of me.

Your point is incredibly important and should be talked about more in professional gun circles.

Two weeks ago some off duty cop had a revolver in his pocket. Toddler reached in looking for toys, keys, candy, or just being a toddler and they ended up picking minor pieces of bullet and floor out of both of them.

    Could have gone much worse.

Don't get me wrong...I'm pro-second amendment. I just also happen to be anti-stupid.

Oh, and I keep mine holstered, on my hip, just when I think I may need to have it. Last time was a little trip to Metarie, LA on Labor Day, in 2005 with my ex and her folks to look at the damage and when there was essentially no emergency services immediately available. I took an extra first aid kit and some other stuff, that proved more useful :) But I was glad to have the side arm with me.

This goes for pretty much everything from driving to drinking, handling tools, crossing the street and everything in between...including things far more dangerous to far more people.

Anyway, I had a seat holster in my F150, and a little compartment in my Mini Cooper above the glove box that I used. I now have a holster mounted in the center console in the Taco and will likely go back to the seat holster. You don't have to conceal in my state...either on your person or in your vehicle. It's ironic because I live in a pretty anti-gun state.

For people who carry IWB on their back hip, as I do, I can't understand how they think that's accessible when you're sitting down, but to each his own. And the the notion that holstering and re-holstering creates a greater chance of an negligent discharge is laughable. If your impression is that handling your firearm causes a greater risk of you discharging it without meaning to, then you shouldn't be handling firearms in the first place.

For those who are chiming in, and I appreciate it, I agree I would prefer to carry my gun w/ me everywhere but unfortunately my work doesn't allow it inside the building. They even "prefer" me not to have it in the parking garage.

so far I'm really liking the fake bottom with memory foam.... I have a Salex Center Console Organizer (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/219169-center-console-organizer-gen2-tacoma.html) so I might try to glue all the pieces together, and also glue he organizer to the fake bottom so I can pull out all the junk in the center console quickly and easily need be.

This is one of the many reasons I have been carrying appendix IWB for the last couple years. I've got a crate full of holsters, everything from Crossbreed to shoulder rig to Remoras to ankle rigs to Smartcarry to, yes, a fanny pack. All of them have a specific situation or clothing where they are better than the others. But AIWB is really good in almost all situations and better than most in most situations. In my opinion of course.

Here is a mod I performed on my 2011 and now(just a few minutes ago) on my 2015.
It is relatively easy and takes very little time.
I decided to cut the first to fit a Beretta .32 Tomcat. I will order another and cut to fit a 9mm Sig Nightmare. Enjoy.

Very nice. I've seen this done before and it's definitely a great mod. My issue with it is that I'm right handed and want my firearm accessible on my strong side.

I carry all the time so sidearm is in holster on my person....as it should be.

Now where do others carry long guns?

I'm trying to come up with a secure concealed location for a M4

Thanks Sean that looks about right though I might prefer a location other than roof.

    Standby for something ;)

It's much less noticeable than you think, according to the owner.

G-Code holster with some 3M double sided tape. Originally fit it with a standard Glock 17 barrel. Eventually added a Lone Wolf threaded barrel and it still fits.
