I cant remember exactly what I did, but ill check it soon. Basically I soldered leads to the switch, so basically when I flash my highs, it triggers the switch and bam! garage opens.

Its novelty has worn off. I think I will get a homelink type device and wire it up in the headliner or just get the mirror.

Maybe if we knew what truck you have we could be more help. I happen to have a base model gen2 ac sooooooo....my overhead console has cubby for garage door opener that doesn't even have to be opened to operate the thing-it has a button on the outside that pushes the remote. It also has map lights and the cubby for the glasses. Much more useful to me than the compass temp glasses one in the other models. Clip it to your visor? Just throw it in the center console? Cubby by left knee? Cubby under stereo? cubby above gas pedal if automatic? Your choice.......:D

I put mine in the sunglasses holder in the overhead console. Didn't use any velcro or double side tape, and it works fine.

It's one of those little things that is endlessly annoying. I don't know why Toyota had to make the visors so thick, but they did. So I can't put the remote in the usual place, and all of the alternatives are kind of sucky. I've been leaving it in the door pocket, but that isn't ideal, either.

Doh! That was really obvious to me when I got in the truck this morning. I didn't know that the autos had a different parking break -- I've only driven MT tacomas.
