For those of you with houses, congratulations I am jealous.
Yard to paint in, garage to wrench in

Anyone living in an apartment, how do you do it?
Let's say you have a part to paint. How?
If it's cardboard, and a prepped part (sanded, clean), there's a couple problems
    1. overspray. It could get paint on other things nearby.
    2. fumes/smoke, not good to breathe in the area
    3. handling. That's a challenge. I guess if you find a place, you can move a part in the truck bed. Set it down outside on cardboard. Paint. Pick up and put back into bed.
Hopefully nothing bad happens. Like handprints or rain. Dust.

Looking to paint some parts and curious to know how everyone does

If you are wanting to paint that bumper in your post in an apartment I have one suggestion.

Take it to a trusted paint shop and have it done properly. Doing that in an apartment is only going to get people pissed at you and may get you a moving date.

What kind of paint job are you talking about?
    Rattle can?

    - Cheap set of saw horses
    - Cardboard
    - A place where other people aren’t

Let it dry for 30mins, toss it in the truck bed.
Good enough for me. Other people aren’t me. So do as you feel best.

Or do like Jimmy said, Pay someone and it’ll probably last longer and look much better.

I set this up in the garage with a shop fan for ventilation. You could set that up in your apartment if you really didn’t want your deposit back. LOL

I’d recommend taking it to a shop. DIYs are only worth it IMO when you have the ability and the tools/space to do it right. Plus it still cost me half what a powder coat costs in the end.

For small items you could always go to a park and find a shady spot.or possibly use your back deck if you have one. Large parts would definitely be worth paying someone one either to paint or powdercoat especially a large bumper in your post. If you’re like me if it doesn’t come out perfect it will drive me nuts to see the imperfections every time you look at it.
