Did the ball mount come with your truck or did you end up buying it too?
I just bought a truck (In GA as well) and it didn't of course have the 7 to 4 adapter either and I raised heck about the NO Hitch Ball Mount! Still didn't get it...
I have bought 2 4runners over the last 10 years and they both came with the ball mount... No Ball, but at least the mount was there!
All have Towing Package too. I think it is ridiculous that 90% of us have to go buy a dang adapter since most don't pull huge trailers that have the 7 pin and also drop $40 on a Ball Mount to put a Ball ON!

I got a 7 to 4 adapter with my truck too with the towing package.

And just to clarify on the brake controller harness, I won't need this hooked up if I'm just towing a basic trailer for a 16 foot aluminum boat, correct?

On my 09 its to the right of the hitch receiver. Its got a little flap cover for it too. Can't really miss it. You need a 7-way to 4-pin adapter though.

That's what the original poster was talking about.

And the adapter was listed on my window sticker, so anyone with the towing package should have gotten it, unless they changed something.
