Finally got into the mountains. Made good progress towards a couple of mountain lakes in SW Montana, but hit too much snow in the timber. Lots of loose boulders, mud pits, steep sections and snow fields. MTS was fantastic. My truck is stock and was really, really fun.

First outing for Sandy (yup, that's her name). Sugarpine Mountain Trail, near Cleghorn. Wanted to hit Cleghorn on the way out, but we spent too much time enjoying Sugarpine, and had to head home afterwards. We've taken many trips to both in my Forester. Needless to say, is seemed much simpler this time around. Not really a whole lot of wheeling, but still a beautiful trail.

Titus Canyon is awesome. I know some thing it's kind of boring, but it's my go-to scenic drive back whenever I'm heading home from Vegas. Phinney Canyon is a nice trail too, but I love the view in Red Pass and of the Titanothere area. Have you had the opportunity to enjoy any of the other trails in Death Valley? I have an ebay seminar in July in Vegas, and I'm definitely looking forward to the drive home.

We were only there for two days. We did Race Track Scottys and that was terrible. Then we did Pupfish, Ryolite, ate at Dennys, and did Titus the next day and drove home. July?? why

The Race Track road is usually pretty awful. It's so cool once you get out there to the Race Track, but the road itself does suck. I thought I had read on the National Parks site that Scotty's Castle was closed due to flood damage.

There's an eBay seller's conference in July out in Vegas, it's a yearly thing eBay puts on. I typically avoid Vegas like the plague, but since I'm already on that side of the border, I try to make the trip worth it and hit Titus Canyon on the way home. It's definitely out of the way, but worth it in my opinion. I'll typically come out of Titus Canyon, take Scotty's road to the 190 and head SW toward Panamint Springs. Then take Panamint Valley Rd/Trona Wildrose Rd (which becomes the 178) through Ridgecrest over to the 395, and take the 395 all the way back to the 15. (California City and Cuddeback are fun spots off the 395 when you've got time). Then off the 15 I'll hit that Cajone Bypass trail 3N45. It's pretty cool unless you catch a train. Still better than 15 traffic.
