Great looking rig...We have similar tastes, though I went with the Sport long bed and kinda regret it. Yours is (OR) LB, yeah ? Happy with that ?? I'm trying to decide if I'll eventually up grade to OR (SB) or just add a locker.

LOL! I asked the same question about four posts back. They are Pelfreybilt, and they are steel.

blackohio, do you have a build thread, or someplace that lists the mods on your truck?

BTW, I noticed your truck on Pelfreybilt's website. Nice!

We had the time of our lives. Camped along the White Rim for two nights, then explored Moab/Arches, then Zion. It'll definitely become an annual trip for us. Stock truck took it really well

Just got back from a 2 day trip off-roading around Bridgeport/Mono Lake, CA. Had an amazing time and took in some unforgettable views.

Day 1: My daughter and I did the Ghost town loop from Bodie SP and then to the old Masonic mining town site. Then we drove up to the peak of Mt Masonic for amazing views looking back south west towards Bridgeport,CA and the northern boundary of Yosemite NP and also south to the Masonic mountains. Then we stopped and explored around the Chemung Mine site on the way back to camp. Just a perfect day.

Day 2: Drove the old stage coach route up an amazingly tight and rocky trail with seriously steep grades to the old 1880's mining town site of Belfort, CA (10,200 ft elev.) at the base of Wheeler Peak (about 12k ft elev.). Saw a few old remains of buildings there which was very cool (can't believe the walls are still up with the weather these must see at this elevation). Got to play in the snow a bit with the kid which was fun. Then we took in the view looking back into Nevada and the Sierra Nevada's which was like looking in from God's windows. So blessed to be able to get up there and take in these amazing views.

It was a great trip and the Tacoma performed flawlessly. Can't wait for our next adventure.

Camping was incredible. We originally thought the camp spots were meant for multiple groups, but each camp spot is for one group, so you'll have them to yourselves. If you can get a camp spot at Murphy Hogback (we stayed at Campsite A), that was our favorite. The stars were nuts around midnight. Also stayed at Shafer Campground, and reserved Labyrinth, but didn't end up staying the night at that one. We went clockwise on the trail. It seemed like more people were going counterclockwise, but because we went during the week we didn't have a lot of hold ups. If you want to check out the Colorado River, take Lathrop Canyon trail. It's along the east side of the trail. It was the first trail that we tested out crawl control, and it did great.

I ended up using the Fun Treks guidebook to plan out the trip. It was too hot outside for us to go hiking, but inside the truck we stayed fairly comfortable given that it was in the 100s outside.

    https://www.funtreks.com/guide-to-moab-ut-backroads-4wd-trails-new-3rd-edition

Not sure if you're lifted or not, but on the hogback that we took, heading clockwise, just after Potato Bottom Campground, we were heading down towards Hardscrabble and I hit my skid plate, slid down, then bent my tow package. Not a big deal and hardly any damage, but that was the only point on the trip where something like that happened, so just be aware.

You'll have a blast. Make sure to take pictures!

Got caught flexin up in Big Bear's Burns Canyon trail. It's somewhat an easy trail with lots of blue, some green, and some red sections. I was super impressed with my buddy's first gen pre-runner and how capable it is. IMG_8305.jpg IMG_8307.jpg IMG_8310.jpg
