I have the same canopy arriving this week. Did you use a rubber seal between the cap and the truck? How was installation?

    Great pics.

Thanks for the link Paul. I've heard the Hunter Mountain thing is fun. Nothing too technical - fine with me. I will know in a few weeks - going on the September overnight run. Not looking for any crazy stuff. I, like you, would be thrilled with some hilly no-winter-maintenance roads as well. I've found one place fairly local (about a 3hr drive) in Upstate New York that I took my truck on when it was new - before any mods. It was over the Winter, the trail was muddy, rocky, icy and snowy. Started as some dirt/gravelly road that used to lead to an abandoned town. It was fun. I've heard with a lot-maybe all-of the trails out here on the Island, you risk impound if you're caught on them. Not worth the expense or aggravation IMO. I'll check out the Long Island thread. See you there!

Went camping over Labor Day and decided to wheel to a small lake near our campsite to go for a swim.

Drove up to Volcano Lake off Gold Lake hwy. Trail was a little tight

IMG_3682.jpg and I promptly got my first round of pinstripes. IMG_3684.jpg
    IMG_3683.jpg
    IMG_3676.jpg

300yds after turning on the trail going through the stream I rolled off a rock and bounced off the front skid. It thumped and the wife asked what was that? I explained and she promptly says " ok. Now I see why we need a lift."

Gotta say that was worth the pinstripes and buffing I'll have to do.

It actually comes with a nice ruber seal on the bottom, install was cake, just line it up with the tailgate.
However I wish it was like an inch longer the gap between the cab is a tad more than Id like.

Drove up the backside of MT Lemmon today. Nice drive and remarkably few people.

Not serious off road, just out on some of the dirt roads to take pictures.

Quicksand is not my favourite colour. Unless it's done up like yours, with all black trim, in which case it becomes a killer paint scheme and an awesome looking truck. Kudos man!

Heading towards the Four Corners area next week to play in the desert. Not sure if I'll make Sedona. So many places and only so much time. Still, it's gonna be fun!

    Cheers,
    Jules

Waves were quite large! Ruined the surf fishing..was still nice to get out, though.

Note: TRD Sport with 5100s was much rougher on the sand than my SR5 on 5100s was...lol

Great pics! What hitch rack is that? Super nice you can open the tailgate with bikes on.
