Yeah we were pretty nervous. That's really close to the end and we didn't want to turn around. If you look closely there are some sticks out there. We waded into it to try and mark the road and the high points.

When I ran it on Labor Day the stream bed was dry, although I was really glad I had aired down because the sand is super loose. Nearly got stuck at one point. I guess it would have been a great opportunity to try out the crawl control on my third gen, I've never used it!

Gorgeous! I think I know exactly where that is. Looking west from 395 between Bridgeport and Conway Summit? Looks like Dunderberg Meadow road in the distance.

Nothing super crazy. Hit some dirt right outside of Palm Springs. I'm only at 746 miles and 6 days old so I didn't want to go HAM.

Went up to Hall Valley, CO this weekend. Road in excellent condition, plenty of 12"+ rocks to climb around on. Snow is beginning to accumulate in the valley, with a few inches on the road in spots.

I was disappointed to see that the spur to Missouri Mine was closed. It looks like the USFS just put up the sign last week, judging by the tire tracks on top of the snow behind the sign on the other side of the water crossing. I haven't seen this closure appear on any trail guides yet.

I chased Roaring Brook down a rabbit hole. Had no intentions of going off-road, but after my initial fishing plan near the Elmhurst dam didn't pan out, I went in search of more productive waters. What I found was a great little trail labeled on Google as Old Drinker Turnpike near Scranton, PA. It wasn't a long trail, but it had some fairly steep grades, railroad obstacles, mud holes, and most importantly some virtually untouched sections of river with a few nice native trout. Highly recommend!

Homebuilt hot water shower. Got another one similar inside for washing my kayak, dirty dogs, etc.

Looking at Google maps, it looks like Old Drinker Turnpike enters at the north and runs south to a dead end? Is that how it really is? My wife and I are driving to Hershey for the Hershey half-marathon and may make a pass by this for the fun of it...
