That's the road. There are tons of smaller trails that branch out as well, you could spend some time down there.

Finally got to have some fun this weekend. We did Goose Lake Rd. near Red River, NM and then hiked up the ridge to Gold Hill. Totally stock TRDOR handled it pretty well, I just aired down a bit. Tons of fun except my wife didn't like passing on the way down haha.

Went camping up by Silverton/Ouray this past weekend and got to scrape the bottom of my truck for the first time. Good thing there is an RCI group buy feeler thread. Take my money already.

Not today but a week ago, at AOAA Mobtown Offroad Expo. Had bunch of "fun". Feel way better about 3rd gen's capabilities!

The guy leading the pack said over comms before we entered: "It's not as deep as last time." I'm glad I wasn't on that earlier run... without a snorkel at least.

Just think if you had an aftermarket cold Air intake for your truck. I think your filter would have gotten a little wet on that one! Wow! A+ for wheeling bud!

Did you try crawl control? Just wanting to learn the limits of the technology.

I was in 4Lo, with my rear lockers on and in Mud/Sand mode when I got stuck. I actually only realized how to turn on the modes and remembered about the rear locker about a half hr before I got stuck. Lol. I prob should have got stuck in the two prior Mud sections I drove through that looked a lot worse and we're deeper thicker mud but I floored it and plowed through em!

I think if I had a few more miles per hour of momentum and got on the gas a few feet sooner I would've been able to plow through it also, but that's not what happened. The damn ruts were frame deep and soft sinking type sand which didn't help.

And yes I tried crawl control in forward and reverse on and off for a couple hrs after each time I tried digging out and stuffing branches under all 4 tires to no avail. Thing was I was highcentered and also angled down with the weight of the truck on the front axle and skidplate and all four tires are pretty much off the ground and had no way to get any traction.

Prior to this, I did try crawl Control on a couple sandy hills and it was pretty cool and worked fine. It kind of sounds like ABS and traction control kicking in all at the same time kind of making weird noises while it moves. I did not however try to get it stuck like in the YouTube videos and then have it try to work it's way out. I would actually try it if I had someone with me With a winch though to get me out of it didn't work. That one YouTube video that Toyota made, it looks like they went up a sandy hill, got stuck and did crawl Control in reverse to get out using gravity as an assist.

My situation was Opposite since I was facing slightly downhill and I was totally high centered on the frame. I was not able to get the truck to budge once I got stuck. Once the winch was attached and I started to get yanked backwards it took about 2 to 3 feet before I could get any traction, so that's about how stuck I was, a little worse than I thought.

I think I explained all this in the "what did you do with your Gen3 today" thread but I don't think I did here so there ya go :)

I have a question for everyone. Can anyone explain how the truck reacts or what it does differently in the different Off road modes?

Sounds like quite the saga! The mutli-terrain select only changes how the traction control system works - basically how the brakes are applied and how quickly. For instance, in mud/sand mode (slippery terrain) the system will allow the wheels to spin a little bit more then normal in an attempt to get you more traction. In rock mode, the system will apply more break pressure sooner when it detects wheel slip. Note that the system can individually apply the breaks to each wheel for better traction control.
