Visiting my brother in Washington. Forest RD 25 near Enumclaw. He took his ‘85 4 runner while I took my 16 TRDOR as a recovery vehicle. Fortunately didn’t need to do any winching.

True! And that will eventually happen. I have used my recovery gear helping others way more than myself (which is probably common for most of us). A suggestion: If you're hooking up straps, chains, whatevers to somebody else's vehicle trying to do a good deed pulling them out of a jam, especially if they don't have any good recovery points, it may be best to let them hook the gear up to their own vehicle (under your instruction) just in case something breaks on their car or truck.

I was pawing through an old Jeep forum about this very thing. One guy makes a phone video of the person who's stuck asking for help and indicating any damage done is the responsibility of the rescuee not the rescuer.

Smart. Maybe have some pre-printed contracts handy for any rescuees to sign before the recovery process begins.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
It's unfortunate, but this is probably a good idea. I'v helped out maybe a dozen people through out the years and all have been vary grateful, but it only takes one a-hole.

How about a comparison between the previous wildpeaks and the new CTXs?

I just bought the wildpeaks and cannot imagine a better tire, really...

Hey man... thanks for all the help when I was trying to figure out the new shoes!

I ended up with the NV's and wrapped them in Falken Wildpeaks (SL rated). Main reason I went with the these was that they were quite a bit lighter than the E rated Maxx's. Not too mention the lower price, which was a bonus.

Thanks again, for all your help!

Well my wife misinformed me of going to Big Bear. It ended up being Lake Arrowhead so I improvised and found a trail. It wasn't easy in some spots for a noob like me but no damage and the 6MT was amazing in second gear.

Be careful about what you "secretly hope for."

Rolled up to this on Saline Valley Rd yesterday. After a bunch of running around, everyone came out of it OK.
EDIT: not sure if they found their dog.

Went to Orosco trail in Ramona, CA today. Second trail I’ve gone to since I’ve been in Cali. D2ABC59D-9DAA-4D98-883E-621230942791.jpg 4BBE6701-43C7-4CF4-A598-0FA30617323E.jpg

Hit up Poker Flat trail From Downieville to LaPorte CA before Christmas. We made it with but a scratch, very impressed with how the truck handled itself and the stock tires not giving out. 37 miles and we didn't see one other person! The decent into the river was the worst, it was all ice and no traction downhill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h92FQkoY9jU

Nothing too obscene, mostly just remarking on the shitty washout and giving the truck lots of compliments :itllbuffout:
