For all of that to work you have to be in 4lo. To get into 4lo I come to a complete stop, put it in neutral, turn the knob. It takes a few tries at first and it will not engage 100% of the time first time but you will get the hang of it. When it doesn't engage it will tell you on the cluster panel as well.

If this doesn't work you may need to go into F or R and rock a bit. Imagine putting a bolt into a chair leg, sometimes you have to rock the leg to get the bolt to fit. I have found that I am more successful if I pause between 4hi and 4lo.

    Hope this helps.

Put it in neutral, set parking brake, flip switch to 4lo, wait for dash to indicate engagement, release park brake, put in gear. Works 100% of the time when I follows those steps

We saw another 2016 DCLB OR 4x4 today on the trail. He hit some mud. We talked to him and he said he smashed the frame rails on some rocks and broke some stuff off. I asked if he hit the exhaust pipe and he said no.

They are 4x4 only, all the time. And for good reason. You would not have been close to making the first crossing, especially after the last rain. It's a mud pit now!

You need to go to Hungry Valley SVRA. They are open 24x7 and have a map showing trail difficulty. It's the best place to break in vehicles. Also Cleghorn is 2 wheel drive friendly. My wife did the hardest muddy part of the trail in 2 wheel drive on Sunday.

    Here is Cleghorn

It's unfortunate that they are 4x4 only, but it's for good reason. The first water crossing, right at the entrance, is very steep on both sides on the exits and has huge boulders. I always go through there in 4 wheel just to be sure I don't get stuck. It was at least 20 inches last time I crossed, and after it rains the crossing turned into a huge mud pit. The pictures I saw from this weekend showed terrible conditions

Hugnry is great because there is a map and every trail is rated. The blues aren't that bad but they can be really steep and off camber. You won't need to air down unless you are 4x2. Cleghorn is easy except for a few spots but 4x2 will make them all. There is some mud lanes in the shade right now. The mud up there will fill your tires quick, it's sticky. We did it all in 4x2 at 36psi
