I did whatever this route was. Made a route on Gaia and went exploring. Was cool. Donuts were done at the end as celebration

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
I have not posted anything for a couple of months now. Did manage 8 trips in the last 2 months but not as much as usual due to all the wildfires around the areas I fish. I've had to be very selective about where I go, and have to check the wildfire status before each trip. There are still 240 fires burning in BC, with many well over 150,000 acres. To date close to 3 million acres burned in BC this summer, about 300 homes lost including 2 small towns wiped out. A bad fire season for so many. The small town of Lytton fully wiped out. Losing a home is bad enough, but an entire town is a huge disaster.

We still have Australian and Mexican firefighters helping out and also firefighters from all across Canada. Thank god for that help. We had many days where the Okanagan in BC had the worse air quality of any location in North America due to the wildfires. Several days where the AQI was over 400, and weeks of 200+AQI with visibility below 1/4 mile. The BC coastline was spared the smoke this year. So getting above the smoke here for some fishing is a big plus. It has just cleared up in the last 5 days. Did not open a window in the house for 5 weeks, so that fresh air is incredible!

What I have done the last 8 weeks is go up above 6,000 ft elevation to get above the smoke, worked in all but one trip. Some pics from a few different trips over the last 8 weeks.

Oh, and broke off my back Thule boat rack in the bush. Backing up and hit a large overhanging branch on a tree, it snapped the 1/2 inch aluminum mounting plate in two. So using my inflatables for 6 weeks now waiting for parts.

A little elk scouting mission from about a week ago. Took my dads 2021 out for its maiden trip. Truck and trailer did awesome in some pretty technical spots. Had a blast.

Nice, but get rid of those Wranglers. I blew 2 the same day within an hour of each other, lousy tires. Get anything that is 10 ply if you are regular offroad. I carry 2 spares on every trip now. I knew I should have taken the wranglers off right away, and cursed my decision when I found myself stuck on a steep rocky dried up riverbed, sidewall blown out ona rock puncture. Not a fun spot to change a tire, really steep and took a long time just to brace the truck so it would not roll jacking up.

Not really off-road but spent the day up and around Lake Cushman on the Olympic Peninsula in Western Washington. Beautiful day, beautiful place, great people. Long beds

Yea the stock Wranglers are trash off road. Had punctures each time I took them on rocky dirt roads.

They didn't do bad on road for ice which surprised me. If your Taco is a daily driver they are not bad commuter tires. Just would need two sets of wheels and swap them out.
