It’s pretty easy, save for a couple short rocky sections. It’s more scenic than difficult. Definitely worth your time, especially in the fall. Plus it’s bookended by Cottonwood & Jerome, which are rad historic ‘wild west’ hangouts.

I was going to the mall but but my instincts told me to go head to Joshua Tree for a little fun in the dirt.

This summer I packed my truck up with camping gear and headed up to northern WI, where I was doing bits and pieces of the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail or TWAT for short lol. Nothing to exciting for trails but it was a great time and I would recommend doing it if you can! Lots of scenic areas in WI. And on a side note, she said yes.:thumbsup:

<sigh> Tossed on some front OEM mud flaps. RUB! Guess I squeaked by run blissy 5100's at 3rd notch and 275/70r17's without. No rubbing I've found with out them. Time to dremel and see if I can make work. I don't like the flaps to begin with, but also don't like the winter grime spraying down the side of the truck. Guess also the 0 offset wheels give just that enough "poke" to make it more noticeabl. Hesitating the CMC, which wouldnt really help the stock flaps I believe.

I just got back from Town driving on the Snow. Tried the Brakes pushed hard Anti-Lock works great did not slide or go out of control. Then did it with a nice pedal great brakes on snow!! Drove on the side slush with one set of tires where others were scared to do in 4x4 only did not pull in slush or snow having one set on the Bare!! This is good cause my Dodge Ram would pull over and you needed to be ready. Have to say again I love driving this truck!!! Here is a couple pictures I took going to town on the way there. Last picture is on my place outside the driveway. DSCF7913.jpg DSCF7914.jpg

I finally put my Taco into 4lo and locked the rear for the first time couple weekends ago. So much fun climbing a hill with a spotter. The trail is the off West Camino Ciello here in Santa Barbara Ca.

Got out in the snow before it got too deep. main roads were good so, of course, we had to get off those. wasn't much for fresh snow when we were out, but it was still fun. First snow storm of the year, but only 5-9 or so expected.

Man I have a new thing or two to learn now about Off Road stuff! This 2022 Taco is not your Grand Pa's 4x4 anymore!! This is good cause this70 year old guy needed some new stuff to learn! Wife was reading the Manual to me after what happen on the road last night with the Cruise Control on. A car started slowing down but not pulling into the turn lane in front of me. I started to cuss a little saying come on get over and started to cover the brake!! Then all of a sudden the truck took over and started braking to slow down? I just sat in the seat with my foot over the brake! Wow it was so cool even after he pulled over it braked a little as I went by, I was still covering the pedal the whole time!! Now I know why it did that but it does TON's of other things I talked to a engineer about in the 70's on how things could self adjust and corner, traction stopping, power adjustment ect the list was long! Now I learn they have done this on a dam pick up and I now own one!

Now the Taco is worth the $45K and not just a pretty Truck to drive. Still glad I am the first owner with all this stuff being new and under Warrantee for 7 years! The best part is the braking on each wheel to control stopping, cornering, traction and best acceleration on and off road. So much to learn but I needed this can't build trucks like I used to but this one is pretty much done! Just need to learn how make this stuff work when needed. Had a Relative say people don't use the stuff it is just there to sell them. Bull Shit I will this is too cool cause my AWD Challenger GT does even more and I was just driving it!! Now this old guy is going to become a NERD and join the new world of Electronic Vehicle's since I no longer own Old School stuff! Not going to fix them but will sure know how to use this stuff!!

PS The Soft Topper I ordered for it yesterday now has a Tracking Number!! Man for a while I thought winter would be 1/3 over before it got here now if Fed-X is on time I will have it Dec 9th the day I am talking to my doctor about surgery coming up to fix my Stomach Valve the only real thing wrong with me right now!
