We did the Shafer trail near Canyonland National Park. Not a hard trail but I think it's one of my favorite when it comes to the beautiful landscape.
Got a few drone shots of the area.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
I take my aeropress with me in the bush on each trip. I have 3 of them, 1 was for work, 1 for home, amd 1 for trips in the truck. Can’t beat it, best coffee invention ever.

    Behold the Aeropress!

At my last job, more than 10 employees bought one within a week after tasting coffee through it. Years later they all use it. This is the only coffee maker I need, and at $40 not a bad deal….

First experience in the sand. Loved it. So convenient to have everything right there. Beautiful day with my beautiful wife. My 1 year old lab went along for the 3.5 hour ride. He loved the beach and slept the whole ride home. Tomorrow morning it’s straight to the car wash.

IMG_4627.jpg IMG_4639.jpg 7 hours straight off roading, trail riding, mudding, adventures today at Ginger bay and Boswell landing in land between the lakes today were some of the most challenging trails I’ve ever done today and this truck was amazing. It made it through places not many trucks or vehicles without major suspension upgrades would attempt today and besides bottoming out pretty hard and dragging rear diff a couple times it was flawless! Some of these trails were probably made for ATVs more so than vehicles so to say I pushed it would be an understatement. More upgrades I realize I need now if I’m gonna play this hard often but I’m So impressed with the 8112/8100 combo and hammer hangers w icon rxt upgrades. Had an absolute blast. Got a bit too cocky and rock sliders wouldve been big help but my front and transmission skids saved my ass today from disaster! I’d love to go on a group run sometime I think it’d be a lot of fun and I’m pretty confident my truck could keep up with the majority of mid travel vehicles after todays trip although not a super technical run

Another day, another new lake. I always take my belly boat when I explore a new lake, not knowing what the trails will be like.

This trail is too overgrown to get in with my boat up on my roofracks, so belly boat again next trip in. Trail is truck width for about a mile and no pullouts on that stretch. Too overgrown for a full size truck.

Had to leave early to get out. Strong winds picked up and thunderstorms in the forecast, so I did not want to get stuck behind a bunch of deadfall on the trail. A lot of old damaged trees. Had to walk some deeper pools to make sure I could get through without getting stuck. A heavy rainfall would make them impassable.

Really swampy and overgrown area, like a south american jungle and brutal amounts of mosquitos and huge horseflies. It will be even more overgrown very soon.

A really nice looking lake though and I imagine not many make the trip in. Will go back and fish it soon.

Another great day up in Los Padres National Forest. Although, next time I’m going to have to take my Alaskan/3120(two piece head) to mill some boards in beautiful country. They need to change the designation on 100. Flowers still showing off. The rains changed the trail some. Ended the day at Hungry Valley for some dinner and good times afterwards.

Checked out parts of Tates Hell State Park in the forgotten coast. I’m still getting used to the transition from desert off-roading in SoCal to the mud and dense forest. Will be getting a yard stick to check puddle depths and get better at reversing. Easy trails with some good looks outs on the swamp and rivers around the area

Hear hear! One trail I took ran under a huge pipe from LAWP and it had a large puddle underneath it. Passing by was an adrenaline rush, but on the way out, I didn’t realize I went too much to the left side and all of a sudden the left front wheel dropped into a deep hole. Man, I thought I was going to be stuck in a bad place.

def will be making some recovery gear changes, I’ve been spoiled blasting through the desert mostly worry free.
Also shameless photo from shooting this morning, my uncle was worried we would get stuck in the standing water. I told him we will be fine haha

I guess technically it was “off” road. At least it wasn’t pavement.
