Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
The past Monday. We had a cold snap and at 11:30 in the morning it was +5c at this location, and wet snow mixed with rain.

I wanted to hike to the top of that mountain, but winds gusting up to 60kmh and the rain/snow kept me off the hill. The top was shrouded in cloud and fog, nasty stuff. The top is 6,000 ft elevation.

5 buzzards were on the roadside eating a deer carcass. Nice looking birds. Deer at several locations.

    Just Kelowna. :)

West side of Okanagan lake, up Bear creek FSR and then muck about following trails. For sure nice spots to hike.

In that area I have now seen moose, black bears, a mother grizzly with 2 cubs (they are rare here), lots of deer, and large porcupines. There are wolves, cougar and bobcats but I only see their tracks and scat.

The buzzards are pretty common here.

My wife and kids really enjoy that same sort of experience.

It’s amazing that you don’t have to go too far to get back to nature. As Kelowna and surrounding areas become more of a Zoo it’s nice to be able to get away and encounter all those creatures. Especially seeing that Grizzly and 2 cubs! Good for the body, mind and soul. Being stuck in the Lowermainland is soul crushing.

However, We do have cheap Rec Property we can get away too in the Southern Okanagan tho. So we’re no too bad off unlike some others.

These photos were taken not too far away of a drive from our Rec Property. Nothing special but nice views at this particular spot, not really out back where all the critters are to see. We mainly see just deer, Eagles and the odd black bear. Now if we were retired, lived there full time and the kids were grown up……….. Sigh…….

    Looks sweet!

Since we moved here 8 years ago, I have now fished 26 new surrounding lakes I had not fished when we lived in the lower mainland. Crazy, and at most of those I never see anyone. I just spotted on satellite photos another small lake not too far from here that I might be able to access. If not I can hike in. Maybe next week.

The man had NOTHING on hand. What I find suprising is he wasn't that far off a high traffic trail and only 1 guy stopped to help but apparently couldn't pull him out. So he sat there for 2 hours waiting on me ro show up.

On another note got out for some fun on the trails this weekend.

Found out from a fellow hometown TW’r that Trail 117 is called The Wall by locals. For us stockers, it “should” be a fun wheel… but I didn’t have the sack! And besides that, wouldn’t have gone far with a tree blocking the trail and no saw. I’ll be back someday 117!!!!

Participated in a trail cleanup for the Sugar Creek Loop in central Oklahoma last Saturday. Collectively we hauled out >600lbs of trash and junk.

Bonus points if you can name what famous movie scene was filmed here...

Down here is San Diego, we don't have much for open forrest driving. Pretty jealous of your area. What front bumper is that? blends in nicely on the truck.

Gotta love the trail offerings we have up here in the Canadian rockies.
It's a greenlane aluminum stump bumper, if you take your time to do it well its seamless almost looks factory at times. Perfect lightweight winch mounting option.
