Very nice! I’m sure that was quite the experience to witness in that fashion!

She said bloody terrifying. She's snapping photos, click, wind, click, wind ... while her husband is tearing down the tent and stuffing it and the dog in the car. Within seconds they had rock raining down around them.

I'm thinking about requesting JBLM for my next duty station. How do you like that area? I'm looking anywhere East of base right now to avoid I-5, but the big selling point is views like that! I love camping and outdoors and that region just seems perfect.

I was born and raised here. Spent time in the south while active duty and I really missed the area up here. A lot of service members go south and east of the base for traffic, I also like that strategy to get away from people…closer to the things I enjoy also. I live east of the base, like everywhere it’s getting big but you’re not too long of a drive to where you’re seeing nobody or limited people. If you want any information let me know! I’ll be happy to help with whatever I can.

I know where they are at, however the locals have requested we not divulge their exact whereabouts.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Very cool. Found this story today on a local news website. Basically a copy paste here.

Two ladies from West Kelowna competing in an 8 day long off road rally. The photo is their Tacoma from the news article.

I love that it is without any GPS enabled devices.

For 23 years I explored all over BC using only charts and compass. I have about 70 charts still that are marked up with all my scribblings on lakes and routes. My wife never knew where I was at… :)

The Rebelle Rally is the longest off-road rally in the United States, for women only, and was created by Emily Miller. It runs over eight days and covers more than 2,500 km, from northern Nevada to Glamis, California at the Imperial Sand Dunes near the Mexico border.

The eight day rally is navigation based and is completed by collecting points at hidden checkpoints.

It's completed without cell phones, GPS, or GPS enabled devices. Teams are given checkpoint locations at the beginning of each day and have to navigate to the checkpoint using only a map, compass or rally road books.

Every time the pair has competed, they have won the International Cup award.”

The pictures really flatten out the steepness and the ruts. I was very impressed the (mostly) stock little OR climbed right up with zero issues.

Took it through forest trails in the southern part of Olympic National Forest through Lake Wynochee and Quinault Rainforest. Camped overnight at Lake Wynochee. Got off track at some point and ended up even deeper in the rainforest. On one of the old logging trails the exit was washed out so I backtracked to Wynochee Lake to exit. I passed by many beautiful areas and the truck handled amazing through deep potholes and narrow, overgrown trails. Time to put the bed rack and RTT on today!
