Where Have You Off-Roaded Today? 3rd Gen

Ah! Sucks that happened but it’s awesome without the Tacoma stamp. I prefer the loom of the TOYOTA on the tailgate but feel it’s too much with the embossed Tacoma. My tailgate also has the black letters in it from the previous owner. I’ll have to keep this in mind if my tailgate ever needs to be replaced…I don’t think $500 is doable just to get rid of the stamp.

Ouch ! I did something similar but was much luckier than you, thanks PDR. I think there is a market for a stamped TOYOTA old school truck tailgate. I have been in search of a late 70’s visor. Nobody makes that either.

 

Ran the Naches Trail w/ a few buddies yesterday.

 

A bit off-road, driving, and camping inside Sequoia (Kennedy Meadows, Kern River camping, & Sherman Pass Rd)

 

A couple snaps from a recent trip to Drummond Island, MI:

 

The east side of the island can get pretty serious. The rocky area (the marble head region) has a few loops to steer clear of unless your rig is pretty well built up. The rest of the trails are fun and doable by most stock off road oriented vehicles. One of the members of my group was driving a stock TRD OR and he was able to do about 90% of the obstacles we covered.

 

Offroaded to camp at a yellow post site at 8000 feet over the weekend. I believe it was about a 3000 to 4000 foot climb from trailhead. Southern CA.

Lower back is screwed these days, so I am having to avoid the bumpy bump on my remote fishing lakes and stick to the easy going. No complaints though, being outdoors in open country is always better than being inside.

What matters is not how often they knock you down on your ass. What matters is how many times you get back up.

 

Unfortunately, becoming more of a regular occurrence these days in our summers.
