And then on the way down, came across this poor fella. Made an attempt to get him out of the ditch, but he didn't have enough traction or clearance. Stock Explorer for the fail. 20240317_194920.jpg

Coming down Two Brother’s Rd into Idaho Springs- a lot like an amusement park driving ride. Had a predetermined track already and was hard to get out of the ruts and easily slid back into them. Super soupy in the ruts and snow is like very heavy mashed potatoes. A lot of trails are still inaccessible and buried under a lot of snow. Had 42” of snow in Idaho Springs. The rapid meltdown will create some interesting washout effects but we are supposed get another 8” to 12” tomorrow.

What an absolute mess on the 5 southbound last night. No doubt the sudden downpours caused it. But a nice Sunday drive through Los Padres nonetheless.

For you locals, I decided to go back to Frazier Park for some grub because it was going to take 3 hours to get home when it should be just over an hour. I then took the 138 towards the 14 to go around and skip the stalled traffic as that was the only other way home that was within reason. I took a quickie trail at The California Poppy Reserve for a late dinner and a quickie revive for the rest of the trip home :rasta:

Wheeled & camped out in Moab this past weekend. Ran Fins & Things on Saturday with a group from Red Rock 4 Wheelers during EJS 2024. Honestly, great experience even though myself and an FJ were the two Toyota guys on the trail run. But that was was to be expected haha.

I picked a tough battle at Hungry Valley today. Mud was slick, it was slinging me around, but fun to navigate and conquer with the YOTATRAC.:spy:

This 4WD Bumb went back to HV to pick up me yearly pass. He gave me a free month, and that ain’t no April Fools homes’:rasta:

Puddles galore. Be careful with the last one! Deep for a stocker.

2nd to the last only for the real ones!!! Be careful, you gonna get thrown into the deepest ruts.

^^^ Very nice video, always enjoy seeing just what a stock vehicle is capable of. Nice to not need thousands of dollars worth of "upgrades". Just get out and have fun! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! I understand I could push my stock taco much harder than I do, but I also need to get home.

On a separate note, the one mod I plan to do this fall isn't a lift or body armor or such, but seat heaters. LOL.
