Back at Camp Gruber today. Last post was just an hour to look around. Went back today and did a good number of trails. Super proud of how the truck did with it being pretty close to stock. Next time I’ll remove the sway bar to see how it does. Already wish I had a front locker and a couple more skids. Rock sliders and stock OR front skid did their jobs nicely.

Parked on this Anna Marie Island, walked out to shore, and casted out 8oz of shrimps. Gone in 2.5 hours, hehe, but it was fun.

Finally had some free time this weekend and hit up Boulders OHV with a buddy in his GX470. First time wheeling in AZ. I’m impressed with how capable this truck is stock. My only downside is clearance and those crappy predator tube steps. They got beat tf up and surprisingly held on. Getting my mod list together now lol.

Yeah those tubes are nothing but trouble doing that kind of stuff. Honestly the only thing they’re good for is helping the kids get up into the back seat. They don’t look bad though I’ll give them that.

They do look great but functionality off road isn’t. I like to smack my shin on them a lot too. Funny enough I just went to show a coworker the damage on my tube steps and found a crack in the weld. They are 100% coming off now

You clearly intend to use it for more than the mall. If you want pseudo-steps there are genuine protective sliders with a wing under the back doors for kids, and the sliders add real value.

That's the plan, I want to keep this truck as long as I can. Don't have kiddos yet but I'm sure they'll appreciate a winged slider lol. What are some of the best companies to consider when looking at rock sliders? I just want longevity and protection of course. Looking for something similar to these.

Apparently Cali Raised sliders have that wing. Do not have them on my truck, but they are trusted.

Cali Raised Trail Edition sliders have been good to me for several years now. They are high and tight, I like that, some people don't.

I've read mixed reviews about the kick outs on sliders. Some say that portion tends to get hung up and caught. :notsure:

Nice looking trail. I’m in the East Valley of Az. Can you give more information on the trail? You can DM if better. I have done a good amount of trials in the east and Sedona but that looks like a fun trail.
