The course instructors and spotters were attentive to individuals regarding their vehicles limitations. Some spotters looked at the sides of my truck and they said, " good, you have sliders". I had to point out those were not sliders, they were powered automatic fold down steps when a door is opened so please keep me away from the rocks.

Good news, after giving my truck a good washing it turns out I have just a handful of real scratches that will probably rub out. The vast majority of the scratch's at the clinic was the brush rubbing off the dirt on the truck.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Now he just has to go get it dirty again. That's why I wash mine. Well, that and I have to wear a suit to work. :(

Yankee Boy Basin upper trail was lit! Extremely rough but still managed to get to the top with stock ride height and sliders.

It was 74° in Ouray and 67° on top at 1 pm on Friday. Absolutely nuts for this time of year!

Good thing you got white. The pin stripping and scratches are hard to see. My white tacoma has a good amount of pin strips/scratches on it but can’t really see it unless up close or in the sun. It’s part of the off roading adventure and sometimes happens when you need to keep going.

I just found my posting of my 4x4 trip to Colorado, August 8, 2019, look what my crew found on the trail. Here we are on Ophir Pass. If you know this area, you know that almost each rock on this trail here is a huge obstacle for any passenger car, even this Chevy Malibu rental.

Pretty much, each of those rocks on that trail, are about the size of 1/2 that Malibu's tire. We stopped and talked with this guy, and he was submitting, he was asking 'anyone' for a tow back to town. OMG, who would 'give' him a tow? You should have seen the damage to his undercarriage. lol.

I can’t see the stripes when I wash the truck, so we’re all good. The flared fenders are another story, but the wife is proud of those. Speaking of wife, she’s really developed her navigation and spotting skills this summer …all the stripes are on her side of the truck. Been a fun summer.

Tacoma though she may be, mine belongs in the "PP" (Pavement Princes) category. But then I am poor and grew up with nothing. So, to take my shiny new (adult toy) truck and deliberately paint it with mud and scratches, week after week, is about as abhorrent a thought as any an older man like I can think of.

The "Tacoma Welfare Police" will be by tonight to relieve you of your ownership burden and transfer care to someone who knows how to use it.:facepalm:

The parking on the shoulder of this road where you see her in this picture; briefly paused to pose for this photo, is about as off road as she is allowed to get. And even this amount of treading dirt is a violation of her contract with me........You can send the TWP constabulary. But keep in mind, we are a peaceful kind. We seek no violence or unrest!
