I'm going to go with an International Harverster K series truck, 1941-49.

Is that Frenchman Coulee? I love that part of Washington. It's so beautiful and so different from the west side of the state.

Reymert Mine remnants, SE of Apache Junction AZ. Water trough, 2 furnaces, view inside one furnace, the remains of what looks to be a paved road in a gully. Trail to the mine is only rated "green" but my steel RCI skid sounded like at least 1 rock was blocked from getting deeper into the belly.

Without doing any research, the fender said mid to late '40 IH to me. Then you posted pics...

I like them. I had the KO2s before, and they were decent except when it rains. These KO3's I feel like have much better all around traction. Definitely recommend.

    Not exactly off-roading, but ...

Remains of an "internment camp" from WWII, 20 miles south of PHX. A distant view of the memorial, a closer view of the memorial, a plaque showing the camp layout (yes, a$$holes used it for target practice, views showing that all os now empty space ... the last shows the remaining foundations of a building (look at the right/left edges).

Wanted to take in the night atmosphere but I was nicely-enough asked to leave by the Native-American person (it is on their land, not public lands, cannot be there after dark, so I am told) and left without hesitation. For any interested ... exit 175 (Casa Blanca Rd) off I-10 in AZ, west to N Orchard Rd, south past the change to unpaved, east for 1/4 mile, south at the heavy-truck/equipment yard, at the first road about 1.5 miles south of the equipment yard go back west for 1/2 mile.

What a sad time in our country's history.

I've toured Manzanar, an interment camp in the Owens Valley in California, on a couple of times on off road trips I took to Death Valley.

A local author here in Santa Cruz grew up in Manzanar and wrote the award wining book Farewell to Manzanar. I know both of her daughters well. The book is a sad but wonderful read showing just how resilient the Japanese were having lost everything they had and then having to rebuild their lives after the war.

I knew someone who was in one as a child. He did not say much about it, just that he he was there with his family. That and the US ports turning away (by claiming "annual limits") ships full of Jewish escapees from Europe fleeing persecution/death. I doubt such matters are discussed much in American history classes, sadly.

But I will say no more at risk if starting "charged" discussion and leave people to their own internal thoughts.
