where/how to mount 52" curved light bar

I just bought a curved light bar that is 52" long. I want to mount it above my windshield on my 2010 TRD Tacoma. I think I am going to weld custom brackets. Where is the best place to bolt them into the roof? Do people mount the bracket under the black plastic strips on the roof?
Has anyone mounted a 52 incher? I've seen mounts and videos for a 50 incher.
