Where is oil filter location?

    Post #78 with the video on changing the oil and filter on a 2016 Tacoma: at the 6:00 minute mark he points out a piece that contacts the ears on the filter cap. None of my 2013 Toyota 3.5L motors have that piece even though they're essentially identical otherwise. Anyone know the purpose of that piece? Is it supposed to hold the cap from spinning when you remove the drain plug? There's not a lot of material in the piece and I can't imagine it holding the cap from spinning.

    Yes,underneath,like my 15 better for that purpose,but you still have too get under the truck anyway.

    I've only had my new Tacoma for a week and a half. Always changed my own oil since I started driving and on my '93 Toyota truck. It was four bolts on the '93 to take off the front skid. I'm wondering if I should cut out a door in the stock plate to avoid having to remove the whole thing every time but maybe with longer intervals it's not that big a deal to remove it.
