    Hi all,
Where is the headlight alarm/buzzer on a 1999 Tacoma 2wd SR5? That alarm that sounds off when you have your lights on and you open a door? Mine died and I want to fix it, since I've left my lights on a few times already :(

I remember the sound coming from under the dash. I pulled the under dash panel and found the relays for the ignition and fuel pump, and I looked on the back of the under dash fuse box; the flasher units are on the back, but not buzzer. There's nothing in the steering column.

The door switch works fine and the dome light works. The dome light and headlights have no timer on them like some models; they're either off or on.

I've search the online Toyota parts catalog, and there is no headlight alarm or similar part listed. There's nothing in the wiring diagrams in my shop manual

    Any ideas?

    4 run, 2 don't
    I'm curious, just because.

But I find it impossible to leave the lights on when I leave the vehicle I mean...who walks away from their Yota without turning around at least once?

I’m 95% sure it’s built into the integration module, which is the box the fuses are connected to under the dash. It’s your body ECU.

Thanks, that's interesting; so it's maybe in the integration module?

    Or inside the fusebox itself?

I guess time to pull the panel again and dig around.

I call the whole entire fusebox that module is plugged into the integration relay, it's definitely in the other part of it.

Thanks! That sounds right as to the location.
I don't know if it's possible to pry open the whole fuse box to find the original buzzer; I'll look again.
If not, I think I'll look at wiring up a relay off the door switch to fire a piezo buzzer when the lights are on.

I’d just replace the whole fuse module if you find one cheap enough.

They run ~$50 on eBay. Might do that.
