I have a 2008 Tacoma V6. It is a different type of vehicle that I am used to compared to a Dodge / Ford / Chevy. I might be old school, but the O/D was located on the steering column (P, R, N, D, OD, etc...) or a button to press on the shifter.

This 2008 4 door V6 Tacoma has a shifter in the console with P, R, N, D, 4-D, 3-D, 2, D. Where I place the shifter to kick it out of Overdrive or In Overdrive?

Place it in 4th instead of D. Why would you want to kick it out though?

Put it in D and forget about it. If you're towing really heavy and it seems to be hunting for gears at speed, drop it to 4 so it can't shift to the 5th gear. No O/D button like your older vehicles had.

    welcome to TW
