    this is worth a bump.

it's #2 with the wires FACING me. Other instructions I found indicate the pins facing me...

And, my '18 doesn't appear to have that wire. Awesome...

Reviving this thread, because i can't for the life of me find a 3rd Gen Backup Camera to an aftermarket head unit. I've been searching for hours now on how to connect the factory backup camera to my aftermarket head unit. Can anyone help here with what i need to connect it together?

If you haven't mangled the OEM harness to the Head Unit, anytimebackupcamera fellas sell a harness you could purchase and attach for the video signal, but you would have to snip this added harness to insert the power for the camera to function (6v dc).

Thanks for your reply. I wonder if i could pick your brain. I have a wiring harness. I've connected it to the 24 Pin connector then connected it to the head unit. I've connected the RCA (yellow) to the Camera in on the Head Unit. I must be missing something. I'll post some pictures here in a few minutes

Need to see wiring diagram for aftermarket radio, I don't think it supplies proper juice (6v DC) to camera and harness job you did.

Can you show the link to the Added Head Unit instructions, I'm seeing an extra harness added to the OEM camera harness.

I apologize, what do you mean by, "the link to the Added Head Unit instructions"? Do you mean you just need a different picture of that connection to the Head Unit?

The Head Unit, what brand is it? I see an extra harness to the camera.

It seems the added radio has the required harness for the camera. The additional harness might be conflicting.

I've left harness out multiple times and tried it but to no avail.

Have you figured it out yet? Heres what you need to do. There is a orange wire that comes out of the Joying headunits wiring harness that doesnt connect to anything. That is your backup turn on wire. You need to T Tap that orange wire onto the OEM brownish yellowish wire like i did in the above photo. So every time you shift into reverse, that is the trigger wire that will tell your headunit to turn on the reverse backup camera on the screen. Here are some more photos to help you.

See where i have my blue Ttap? Thats the wire and connection you want to tap into with that orange wire from the joying.

Non JBL install of the Asure with the OEM camera working. Thanks to this post. The OEM camera harness complicates things unnecessarily in my opinion by having the two types of harnesses combined. The unit seems to be working but the swc seems to be giving problems.
