What are most new cars that run projector headlights at, like police SUVs and range rovers? I don’t want any yellow, I’m looking for a white on the bluer side.

I prefer around the 5000K range, but most OEM light are at 4300K.

And there is a reason for that. warmer light around the 4000k makes things more visible and is easier on the eyes.

Those idiots with borderline blue white light are making things harder for the eye to see and harder on other drivers.

Depends on the vehicle but the answer is likely: whatever come stock. Ford went away from projectors in the Explorer in 2016 and began using LEDs for low beams. They changed to all LED in 2020. Departments don't usually spend extra to upgrade items outside of what comes stock.

4K is my preference. It’s not yellow as your graphic may indicate, it’s a warmer white that’s easier on the eyes and better in bad weather. I Hate blue HIDs.

As far as color temperature, also known as Kelvin (K). The color rating does not equal brightness. As seen in the Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited D2S HID bulb, its about 4300k and is the brightest HID bulb you can get. Overall 4300K is a the happy medium. 5000k is about as white as you want to go for good usable light that doesn't hurt your vision too bad in poor weather conditions. Most OEM LED headlights and fog lights are around 6000K-6300K. It sucks for snow and rain! I also had 6500k HID bulbs in my old xB and they were terrible, especially on black top and completely sh!t in bad weather. That was before I knew better though.

The other question is, what are planning on doing? It looks like you have a 2nd gen going by the sig picture. There is NO HID or LED that works well in your housing. Not only because of glare (thinking of oncoming traffic) but also because they do not put light down the road where you need it. If you are looking to do a retrofit there are many great projectors and bulbs that will give you great output.
