Where is the transmission speed sensor on Tacoma 1997

Hello,

I’m starting to lose my mind a bit here. I cannot find the transmission speed sensor on my Tacoma 1997 2.4L 2WD anywhere on the transmission, I’ve read some of the threads here and no luck even with the diamgrams provided. It’s not on the tail end of the transmission, not on the drivers sides either.

I went to Toyota for help and they said it could possible be under the exhaust/manifold? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve added a photo of the what I though was the sensor and what the “new” sensor is supposed to look like.

Thanks for the welcome. Which part is for the ABS? The new part or the part shown on the picture?

On top of the transmission on the side closer to the motor or closer to the rear end?

Maybe I’m naive or missing something but how can something plugged into the transmission (one of my pics) have anything to do with ABS? Additionally both Toyota and autozone have said that new sensor is for the transmission. The search continues for this sensor lol.
