Probably a very broad topic, but looking for some guidance.

Right now I have a 98 SR5 4x4. I love the truck, but the leg room kills me @ 6'3-6'4. My buddy has a 2006 TRD and I love the truck. More spacious and its just much more comfortable to drive. Usually after a hour in my truck Im dying.

So now to the main question.

Where do you think the best deal would be to find a good condition 2nd gen?

I have searched all over craigslist and they are just way over priced compared to what bluebook says. Same with the dealers in my area. If I happen to finally come across the right deal the truck always ends up being a 2wd.

Im looking for a 4WD with either an extended cab or double cab.

    Input?

Hmmmmmm. Go scratch one at the dealer without them seeing, and demand 5k off for the damage

It's all about timing and the local market. I've seen some sweet Tacomas just as you're looking for go for under Blue Book advertised right here on TW classifieds. Then I've seen plenty asking high Blue Book on Craigslist. Just keep looking at all the usual places...

Depending on the mileage, you may be pushing it if you want a 4X4 double cab under 20k. Access Cab you can get with nice mileage for sure. I did a quick craigslist search in Atlanta and the low mileage double cabs I found were all north of 20k.
