Hi all, Ive searched and found a lot on the ECGS issue. But i cant find where to buy or if 1 brand is better than another? Also, just to be sure, is the drivers side the one that needs replacing? Thank you.

Ecgs is the only one who makes the replacment bushing, have to order from them, all others are just another needle bearing, and yes just the drivers side

LOL... ECGS is East Coast Gear Solutions

They make and sell the bushing that fixes the needle bearing issue.

 I recommend to find someone who has the puller, it's a PIA if you don't have one, and I used another members install tool, it's a tight fit

It seems like it is hit or miss on whether you have bearing issue after a lift. Does anyone know if this low % problem? I seems like real hassle having to fix it.

Personally i dont see how you can not have the vibration after lift. Its real easy to check how tight your axle is held. Go to passanger side and grab the axle before it goes into your diff. Try to move it up and down. This is how tight an axle should be.

Now go to drivers side. Do the same thing. Bet this axle moves up and down noticeably. This is because of the play in the needle bearing. Replace it because its so much easier when you have everything apart for lift and only cost 60.

And their puller tool looks hella cheesy. Any 3 or 4 jaw puller will be a gazillion times easier and usually cheaper. Oh and you can use it on other stuff. Or return it to autozone and get your beer money back

Which is the bigger hassle, taking care of it as a preventive measure when installing the lift or having to take your stuff apart again to repair because you didn't then.

Part itself is around $60, plenty of insertion / extraction tools floating around to ask to borrow. If you were local to VA I'd let you borrow mine.

Well with shock asembly out of the way and spindle half undone, pulling an axle is little more than removing the axle nut. Or you can risk it and end up pulling it all out 500 miles later after the washing machine drone drives you nutty. Ask me how i know. Oh and at 7000 miles my axle was noticeable worn from moving around

You guys make a good argument for just changing out the bearing before any possible issues occur. Sounds like it is almost a necessity while doing a lift.

It's cheap insurance to guarantee you won['t have the vibration. If you're in there, it's easy enough to do. Nothing grinded my gears more than having to rip it all back apart after i was done. I ended up getting help from another member to do the tricky parts since he had done it on his truck and knew what he was doing.

I would consider it a requirement when lifting. One less thing to worry about once it's done.
