Where to buy spare tire lock?

I’m trying to find this.... does anyone know where to buy it.
I’m tired of having my spare on the bed.

Pretty sure mine (a 2004) is just a slot that the jack extension slides into.

I’m not sure why both of our trucks have a different mechanism than most of the other Tacoma’s. (Jbrant)

 

I can't tell you why certain trucks received the lock and others didn't, seems like it was just an original purchase option. What I do know is the actual puzzle lock can be physically removed from the original flat head slot to allow traditional spare tire release using the factory wind handle. There is a small metal rivet that is pressed through the lock head to mate the puzzle lock to the original lock. Remove this rivet and you can remove the puzzle lock. Hope this helps!

 

Call around to your local toyota dealership part department.

There is actually a master key lock set that SOME dealership have.

I found one of my local dealership had the master key lock set.

I dropped off my truck and the tech went through the 6 different locks
to see which one I had.
Then he ordered that particular lock with that code.
It was like 25.00 or so.

Not all dealership have this master lock set, so call to find out which ones do.
