I purchased off on Amazon and it was a perfect match. I needed touch up paint in a bottle as sprays can’t really cover deep scratches because you need to fill. I have also used spray to cover larger spots where you can blend on a Toyota Corolla (daughters car)

If you are just using this to touchup bare metal under the hood, you might get away with an autoparts store touchup pen just fine.

My bad luck was with that stuff was on exterior panels where UV caused a drastic color change over time.

Dr. Colorchip has worked the best for me too. Once a chip or scratch has been repair you really have to look hard to see the repair.

Just had to paint a front fender flare last Friday, had the same issues finding Lunar Rock. Order 3 different places online all canceled after a few days. Ended up order from: https://repaintsupply.com/
Got it in 3 days paint and clearcoat. Color spot on! I bought both color and clear coat, in a spary very simple, 3 light coats of paint 10-15 mins between coats, 4 coats of clear (2K) same 10- 15 mins between coats. Flowed out nice no need for polishing whats so ever.

This is what I got which they recommended for the top coat. smt 3680061. Take the red cap off the top turn the can upside down insert the red cap, which contains the cat. until it clicks, shake the can for 2 mins spray away. shake between coats.

What about https://drcolorchip.com/ ? My Toyota OEM touch up pen for Barcelona red was a pretty poor match, and a lot of people in those touch up paint threads suggested the dr color hip.

Yet another vote for Dr. Colorchip. Have used it for about 10 years, great results.

    Work in progress...
Took a few tries but I figured out how to match the blazing blue! It was not easy even with the exact match paint. So, anyways, from what I hear Ya saying you may want to just have a body shop take care of your repair. I used Touch Up Direct. I think the paint kit cost me about 100 bucks.

First oil change they didn’t have my color in stock and needed to order it. Never heard back from them. Last oil change they had it on the rack. Didn’t mention that I got treated like driftwood cuz customer service is nonexistent anymore. Just bought the paint pen and walked out. I guess China is in short supply of army green. Whatever. I just considered myself lucky they had some cuz asking them to order some for me, even giving my phone number, was too much last time.

Got mine on EBay from a selling Toyota dealer. Seems like most don’t stock colors. Price was good and shipping was fast.

Really? My 3R3 was dead on from the dealer.

Did you get yours from the dealer, or a third party online seller? I always hear stories of fake parts in genuine looking packaging online, sure paint is no exception

I have read on here that there are slight variations in color even across the same model year. Something about locales in the country. When I bought my cap, it had been paint matched to Silver Sky (my truck) and it was always a shade or two off. I was parked in a parking lot with another Silver Sky diagonal from me and my cap was a perfect match to his truck. My truck was visibly a shade different than his.

That makes sense, and then the red fades more noticeably than other colors too. My red shell was paint-matched by ARE with the OEM codes and is only “pretty close.” Paints, man.

We have a great local paint shop. They’ve been nearly 100% with paint matching, including taking into account and adjusting for the paint fade on my old Subaru. Find a local shop you can trust and stick with them. My place has been there for 30 years.
