Looking for dealers/ distributors is Canadians may have ordered from. Anything from LEDs to differentials??? I'd prefer not to order through the states because of our weak dollar.

4wheelparts.com can order in CAD. I'd say they're an ok company to deal with. Not the guys I'd want to order thousands in suspension parts but good for odds and ends. When I order from them I always ship to the localish store which, at least, allows me the chance to make sure it's the right part before accepting it.

To be honest everything is pretty much made for our trucks in the USA, so no matter where you order from you are going to get the shaft in one way or the other when ordering parts with the bad exchange rate.

Wondering if anybody has had any experience with partsengine.ca?

It popped up on a Facebook sponsored ad and I followed the link to see some great prices.

But I'm kinda skeptical - and believe in the adage "you get what you pay for" and "if it's too good to be true...it probably is"

I ordered suspension parts from Toytec and the service was fantastic. I just had to bite the bullet on the exchange rate. Those things are beyond one's control. You either afford it, or you can't afford it. There are retailers selling some of the parts, but they price in the exchange. I've also purchased parts while visiting the U.S., but again, the purchase is always U.S. dollars. The bad news is that the Canadian dollar could get even lower, so if you want to save money, you should get your stuff asap!! Try that line on the families household manager!

Everything you'd want to put on a Tacoma, with a few minor exceptions, comes from the USA. Hence no matter the source you get raped on that. I buy a bit from Cochrane Toyota because they can at least bundle whatever I buy with another order to reduce shipping which is the other half of the battle.

I did go through them and got a TonnoPro Tri-fold vinyl cover, Westin Step Bars and a K&N drop in Filter. They also included 3 promo products that TonnoPro offered.

Ditch the filter. It won't do anything for you. Unless you like gunk on your MAF.

What crap did you buy there? Are you talking quality rocker switches or generic toggle switches?

The only thing that I use from there is a ratcheting cargo bar.

    The rocker switches.

For the amount that I use the lights, they work great.

This is frustrating. I'm trying to buy a 1/4" strut spacer. I placed an order with Wheeler's Offroad for their 1/4" poly version and I got an email back saying shipping would be $37.75  and asked that I respond to the email or call to let them know. I responded to their email twice without getting anything back and after waiting 5 days for a reply I called them.

I asked them if they could just slip it in an envelope and they said they couldn't because they weren't able to track shipments sent in envelopes...
    :annoyed:

If I want to order this $7.50 part that's about the size and weight of 3 CD's stacked on top of each other it's going to cost me:
    $7.50 + $37.75 = $45.25 USD which will turn into roughly $65 CDN.
    :annoyed:

You can't really blame wheelers. If they ship something in untracable mail then they are responsible for it if it doesn't show up at the destination. @evan how close to the border are you? Have you considered having it shipped there? Maybe you or someone you know is going to be crossing the border anyways and could pick it up on the way and save the shipping.

The odd thing is that I've never had an issue having an envelope tracked. I know there's not tracking if you just stick a stamp on it and throw it in a mailbox but you can arrange to have envelopes tracked the same way you get boxes tracked.

I live 426 KM from the nearest US border town. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone that's planning on making the drive.

Check out CT Motorsports in Mississauga. Ask for Ski. 905 452 3236. He'll mail it to you. When I was in there last week, there a few hanging in his shop. No big deal.
