Hello from Birmingham, Alabama! 2019 2WD DBLCB with 3" lift and 33's. I've read up and down the gear forums and feel I'm ready to spend the $$ on changing the gears on the Taco. I'm wanting to do 4.88 but am not sure where to go in Alabama, or somewhere in the South East to get the work done. Can anyone please give me a reference of a shop you used either in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, or Florida? Thanks :)

Most will suggest going with ecgs. You can pull your diff and send it in or have them build one and send it to you and you send yours back as a core.

Thanks for the reply.. Taco is a daily driver and although I know how to turn a wrench, I’m not sure if I feel comfortable with pullin parts off her. We have a 4WP close (which I used to do the lift/tire install) but I’m not 100% sure to trust them on doing the gear install. Thoughts on that/them?

I doubt they would install gears and no way I would trust them. If you're just swapping in a diff a weekend is plenty

Someone in the Alabama local thread might have a suggestion.

If I was doing gears, this is probably where I would go in the southeast. I know it’s a long haul from where you are but if you can’t find anything around you, you may just have to bite the bullet..
