    I ordered a set of Bilstein 5100 adjustable front struts, one of them arrived without the spring plate. So I contacted Bilstein to see about getting the plate, evidently they don't do direct sales and it's too late for me to go back to the original seller on Amazon. Bilstein recommended getting the part from Summit Racing, which they do have... however it's been on backorder now for over 2 months. I'm starting to think it's never going arrive. I'm not sure where to go from here, I'd prefer not to buy another strut, would somebody have one just lying around maybe from a set of takeoffs?

    Any help appreciated.

    No dice, she said they do not carry that part. I was hoping a member might have one laying around. I may need to call Summit and see what the likelihood of them ever getting this part in is. Any other suggestions?

    I emailed Bilstein about my issue with Summit having the part on continual back order and any other options where I could possibly get it from, the guy from Bilstein who was polite and quick to respond, said the part is in stock and ready to fill the order and didn't know why Summit hadn't fulfilled the order and to contact them directly. So having looked around Summit's website it's hard to find any sort of contact info, anyone have a number I can get a hold of someone there who can help me out? I really need this part. Thanks

    This is the number to their GA store:
    (770) 288-3200
    You will at least have a person to speak to and explain your situation and what Bilstein said about their order.

    What's it look like. I got a pair of 5100s still with the coils on them. I'm guessing it's some where in the top hat assembly.

    I believe he's missing the bottom part that the spring sits on that can be moved up and down depending on where you set the c clip.

    Oh, that's still on them.

    Can definitely see how that could come up missing.

    Yes, it's the plate the spring sits on. Bilstein has them in stock, they don't do direct to consumer sales and to further complicate things I'm stationed overseas.

    I went to check my email before calling yesterday and to my surprise there was an email from Summit saying "We have been advised that this item is no longer available from the manufacturer. Because we are unable to obtain it, we are required to cancel it from your order." Well I have an email from the manufacturer from a few days prior saying they have 140 pieces in stock, so I gave Summit a call and talked to the guy I got the email from and advised him about the email I had received from Bilstein and he told me he would try and get my order reopened. So that's where that stands at the moment. How freakin' hard can this be?

    If that install kit part number is still the same and includes the seat then here:
    Not much info on what is included buy might be worth the gamble and can possibly return if not what you need.

    Also try these guys. They are actually active here on the site and some of the GA guys recently ordered from them and had great things to say about them. They seems to go above and beyond when trying to help. They list the seat and install kit as seperate part numbers for their front shock listing so maybe they will be able to sell you just the seat. @state48overland

    @intheblue25 ,
    Sorry, nothing here either that doesn't come with the shock purchase. Your best bet would be to return those shocks and re-order with a reputable dealer if you have any more trouble tracking the part down. Getting random Bilstein parts that are normally in a kit can be tough. If Bilstein recommended Summit Racing to get that part from, they should be able to deliver and help. :fingerscrossed:
