Yeah people got a little off track,I keep mine on me and as a PD/SWAT I carry a S&W shield performance center .40 with the stream light trl-6 light and laser combo with the tuslar iwb holster. I don't have issue carrying pretty much wherever I want, thank God.!!!! But if I have to leave mine in the car for some reason the last place a perp will look if your car if it was stolen or they break into your car would be the left kick panel. I just put my gun behind it and clip the holster to the top of it. I would definitely recommend not putting it behind the seats or under or inside of consoles it will be stolen. Put it under the dash somewhere when you get out of your car and make sure it is secure please for God sake I have lost many friends and seen to many victims. Here in Ga it is a big thing for the roaches to break into country folks vehicle they know we have guns think, this is what they do in a daily basis they have no job.The vaults are nice but still easily defeated. Don't leave your gun in your car, leave it at home. Pocket carry always no matter who you are as long as there aren't metal detectors!!!!!!tried by 12 then carried by 6!!!!

Man, that looks sweet. I couldn't bring myself to put it in my truck because it screams "guns inside" for every passerby. I'm going to use the behind the back seat Molle panel for all that stuff and stick my flock under the dash somewhere.

It kills me how so many are showing the location of their gun and admitting they carry one. If you're serious about protecting yourself and your family, the element of surprise is most important. If you just want to show off your gun, that's fine but a whole different story.

Living in CA with our ridiculous gun laws, people (both good and bad) assume people don't carry. But those who assume just might be surprised.

But with some of the comments you can see why so many people are against guns. You've got some moron saying he'll flash his gun at a stop light to scare someone. He'll probably be killed the first time he does that. He's the perfect example and one of the reasons why people want more gun control. Stupid people like this guy are the ones fucking it up for the rest of us who are responsible gun owners. Go ahead and bash my comment for those who feel the need.

Ill bet that someone in this thread is going to eventually end up doing one of four things:

    1. Shooting themselves in the leg/foot.
    2. Shooting a hole in their floorboard.
    3. Having a loved one shoot a leg/foot/floorboard
    4. Having their gun stolen.

Why does it have to be Someone IN this thread? Firearm complacency happens everyday. 1 of those 4 things probably happened as you were typing. Just because we have guns does not mean we are incompetent or disregard the fundamental rules of firearm ownership.

Most people dont think they need to quick draw from inside a car seat. Im still waiting for ONE real account of someone actually using their gun like this without going to jail afterward.

BTW, if i know what your avatar pic is, does that mean we can be friends?

I have pulled a pistol from the holster twice.

The first was when a hot head in an 80's corvette had a road rage fit and was riding the shoulder, in front, left lane, and behind my truck because "I" got too close to him when he cut me off. I had my buddy hand me my pistol (out of the case it was in) high enough to be seen through the back window. That was all it took. The idiot that had been literally circling my car for 4-5 miles hit the oncoming traffic lane and floored it to never be seen again.

The second time I pulled my pistol was at a gas station in the wrong side of Arlington Tx. It was about 2am and I had just gotten off work, headed home. As I was filling up two guys got in a fight, the guy who picked the fight was getting his butt kicked and decided to pull a pistol. He got off a few shots as the other guy was running to my truck for cover. The shooter had been walking towards my truck the whole time, not even noticing me. I pulled my pistol from between the seat and center console and stepped toward him as he turned my way (5-6 feet away). Once he realized he was staring down the barrel of my .40 he put his hands up with his pistol dangling on his trigger finger. I told him I didn't care what beef he had with the other guy, and that my only concern was driving away unscathed. I told him to put his gun on the ground and turn around and walk away. He did. I quickly pulled the gas pump from my truck, cranked, and drove away. I made it about 5 blocks before I had to pull over from shaking.

I don't ever want to have to pull a pistol again, but I sure as hell will make sure I have the means to get myself out of similar situations in the future. Also, if the options are my life or the aggressors.... I have absolutely no qualms about being the one who makes it.

I will never pick a fight, but I will always end it.

First off I would like to say frank acourse you are from cali and I am not arguing with you or anyone else for that matter on a forum! Remember frank this person and others on here may have to save your a$$ or your families someday so maybe you should watch what you say to people.

Just remember guns don't kill people
People kill people. Allow the government to get into gun control laws just one time and they are gone for good!!! It is our constitutional rights to bare arms!!! I have never meet a gun that was just sitting there all alone kill anyone, it's the person behind it. Idiots shouldn't have them and criminals will continue to have them cause of thefts and robberies. More law abbinding citizens should carry and these punk a&$ idiots will stop USA needs to step it up and quit letting people run us over!!!

Good stuff. In CA, you probably would have been detained for the second account, but ultimately nothing would have been on you criminally. The first one you definitely would have been arrested and potentially gone to jail for a few months for the brandishing, plus have your 2A right revoked for 3 years, depending on the DA.

In Texas, your vehicle is legally considered an extension of your home... meaning the same rights of protections exist. Without permit, I am allowed a loaded and unlocked firearm in the vehicle with concealment required.

Brandishment could have easily been struck down as simply accessing my firearm in the threat of potential vehicular assault.

The second act would have NEVER resulted in charges in the state of Texas.
I reported it to 911 when I stopped those few blocks away and discussed it over and over with my close LEO friends about how it should have been handled. None felt that I would (or could) have been charged in this state. The shooter had already qualified for attempted murder, and thus... I would have been legally justified even if my personal life wasn't in danger.

That is awesome. Not being sarcastic, i really like that and was not aware of that law in TX. In CA, the gun has to be unloaded in the trunk, the ammo in a separate container thats not in the trunk.

Either incident, in CA you would be liable for civil damages for bringing emotional distress to the other party, ya know, for them seeing an evil gun. ;)

Halfway true. unless you have it registered on your CCW, then it's in the cab with you. Loaded.
But lets not turn this into a penal code riff raff.
