Too poor to list anything interesting.
    That's just because they're assholes.

I put mine in the the cupholder when I'm getting wheel work done.

Well my wheels cost near 1000 bucks. I'm not going to make it easy.

I can get wheel locks off in a matter of seconds. A professional thief is probably way better than me. Your just making it a pain in the ass for the poor bastard that has to work on your truck. The best theft device is full coverage insurance. I used a big pair of vice grips to remove wheel locks before. Easy. I've used a 19mm 12 point socket. I have smooth wall sleeves that slide over them. I also have twist sockets that make removal easy.

It's funny cause all you have to do is tighten the nonlocking wheel nuts, it'll push the wheel in far enough that the wheel locking nut can be unscrewed by hand, then just unscrew the rest of them.

So overtorque the aluminum wheel? Makes perfect sense.

Wheel locks sound like a great idea. Until you blow a tire hundreds of miles from home, the face of the locking nut crumbles off, and there is no way to get a tool on the now smooth nut because of the wheel design. Thanks to an awesome dude with a freaking cutting torch in the back of his work truck I got on my way with one less wheel stud.

But if you must have them keep the socket with the jack.

They came with my first gen and were the biggest pain in the ass. I'd throw the lock in the cup holder when I had tires rotated. I ended up having to weld the damn thing back together once when it decided to separate. They are more trouble than they are worth.

I have gorillas "the system" where every lug nut is a spline type lock nut. Sure you can defeat a wheel lock, but you'll have to do it 24 times :D
My Hutchinson rock monster beadlocks and 37" MTRs cost me over $4k, but I think their weight alone makes them a theft deterrent. Over 120lbs each.

My truck was just broken into and the dick took my wheel lock keys from the center storage box. Now I put the replacements with the jack tools. (he didn't look there).
And as a former dealership mechanic, I also move my locks in the cup holder so the tech can see it clearly.

Bebop has attitude, I was a Service manager for over 40 years in first a GM and finally a Toyota Store, this attitude shows threw, would you really want him talking to your customers.
every thing he sayes is true, but its all part of customer service. Wheel locks instill a sence of safety whether true or peceived. Attitude is very important when dealing with customers,
it is to easy to encourage your customers to have wheel locks and have a happy experience at the dealer. Our CSI was 98% or higher in a Large Metropolitan Dealership in Houston.

I don't talk to customers the way I talk on here. This is more of a place to vent and maybe for people to learn a little from my bitching. Out of all the things that annoy the crap out of me at work are a missing wheel lock key and a hood that doesn't open without the use of voodoo or witchcraft or an enhanced spell. 97 percent of customers respond what's that when you ask them if they have wheel locks. Your a dealer man, I'm sure you have had every other person tell you something wrong. Nobody cares to even know the slightest detail about their 30k plus new car. Mr. Customer I would be glad to give you a quote for tires over the phone, do you know what size you need? No. Ok, do you know your year make and model, it's a chevy something. It's my wife's car. Yeah like that really helps me out. Unfortunately this is now the new normal. A bunch of clueless sheeple driving around in boxes of metal and rubber with 20 gallons of explosive liquid and they know absolutely nothing about it. That's ok though. I look forward to the mad max days. End rant. Disclaimer. I do not talk to customers this way. I like getting paid.

    Anyone seen my wallet?
If its that easy to take off im having trouble understanding why it matters so much when someone comes in without the key. Its just seconds to take em off anyway.
