I recently ordered from a Tacoma website and received a free Velcro patch with the companies logo on it. Would like to put it somewhere in the truck just need some suggestions as to how to go about putting it on there.

Headliner is the most common, but have seen them on the transmission tunnel, seat backs, & carpeted bed caps.

Take a look in the Morale Patch thread, Lots of headliner pics in there.

Would the patches stick with just the Velcro or would I need to use some method to stick them to the headliner?

Does the Velcro ruin the headliner?

It's a little tricky as velcro doesn't stick well on the 3rd gen headliner. Some say you just have to push and twist, but that hasn't worked well for me. I ended up using t-pins to pin velcro backing to it, then put the patch on the backing.

Do you have a close-up pic of your method for some reason i'm not understanding how this works.

I'll see if I can grab a pic in the morning, or demonstrate what I mean. Basically, you take the pin, and push it through the velcro backing (or something that velcro will stick to), and then into the headliner (at an angle of course). I'd usually make a piece of backing that fits to the patch (if it didn't come with a back), and would typically use 4 pins, one in each corner, then stick the patch on to that backing piece.

Edit: Probably goes without saying, but they way I do it, the patch covers the pins, so don't even realize they're there. Also, for any patches I've removed, they didn't seem to leave any noticeable holes or damage.

I have a couple of patches on the sun visors and you really have to work the Velcro into place. I had to put pressure and move it around a little for it to stick. It stays without any issue, but it doesn’t take a lot to knock it off if you catch it just right. Doesn’t seem to do any damage to the headliner material.

I picked up some cheap felt fabric at the local craft store and strethed it along the whole roof and used t pins to hold in place. Used patches to cover tpins.
