Where to tap footwells light to come on with domelight

Im thinking about ohms law and if you replaced the OEM dome with LED perhaps the current draw is even less.
To allow more for puddle lamps ect.

 

Hi! I am trying to do this same install, but under my driver's side A pillar I can't find any blue or white wire, please help! I've been looking for some enlightening for more that 2 months now.
I only see those wires on the picture.
I have a 2016 SR5 TACOMA

19 is positive from the overhead illumination circuit.
11 is you dimming to off from same circuit.
Do remove the juice (battery negative terminal) from the Tacoma before you play with the wires...

Blue is not connected directly to the battery. It comes from the cab illumination relay which is turns off after 20 min. You never mentioned you got the info from this Forum...

btw, about the illumination relay, thank you for that,i actually meant to say that the blue wire had constant power, not that was connected directly to the battery, i get stuck very often while recording as i am improvising what i say!

Question for ya! You identified pin 19 as positive for the overhead illumination. If I used this positive to throw a relay with a switched negative for oh lets say under hood lighting..... Would It deactivate after 20 minutes like the dome light? Or is that also controlled on the negative side?

 

The dimming to OFF is controlled by the negative side on the overhead illumination circuit.
The Visor lamps are part of this circuit but are not tied to this dimming to OFF negative. I venture to say Toyota thought of this and added the 20 min after all off to kick in...in case the visor lamps are left ON after the warpaint session during the day.

 

Question, instead of connecting to the blue wire for power, could I just connect directly to the battery without causing any problems while still using the yellow to tap into the dome?

I would use the blue as a tap for a relay pin 86 (+) in case you left the circuit ON the system would shut it OFF after 20 min.
