Where was the Anytime Backup Camera Developed?

I'm asking because I want to disable the License Plate lights upon manually selecting the rear camera.

I have previously moded the reverse light circuit to deactivate the License Plate lights when the vehicle is in reverse. This was done with a relay powered by the reverse lights interrupting the License Plate lights circuit. All this work was done at the rear of the vehicle.

I find the license plate lights, at night interfere with the clarity of the camera.

The last time I talked to the Anytime Backup Camera guy (Brian) I was told there was no schematic of the circuit available. If the project was developed here on this website then it would be here somewhere - I have done a search to no avail.

You should be able to just take the output of the ABC switch and run it to the same relay you are using for disabling the lights while in reverse. Put both the reverse trigger and the ABC trigger on pin 86 (or 85 if you're weird like that...). Just put diodes on the reverse trigger wire and the ABC switch wire so you don't light up the reverse lights when you use the ABC.

    Thanks.

Found this thread post#19 where the guy supplies a dissection of the switch:

His web page shows it best:

I just would prefer starting with a complete schematic so I don't miss any opportunities.

Yeah, a full schematic would be nice. It’s been a while, but if I recall, the switch does two things. When “reverse” or “rear” or whatever ABC labeled it, it just sends a trigger to the head unit to trigger the camera . When you select the “front” camera, it sends the trigger to the to the head unit still, but that trigger also is fed to a relay coil that switches the camera input. So you’ll want to grab the signal from the anode side of the diode on the switch, unless you want the license plate lights turning off with the front camera as well.

What I can’t answer for you is what those are on the Entune 3.0 radio are. I do have the schematics and reasoning from the originator for the Entune 2.0 radio. The relay was to solve a problem I introduced… front camera. I was contemplating switching and DPST and eloquence was achieved with the simple relay. There was also another mod he figured out… in-motion disable to allow touchpad when moving. I’d like to figure this out on Entune 3.0 as well. If memory serves, his name was Hoan and he was an engineering student.
