So clutch install for my favorite clutch place is around $500, so if the labor to add those isn't that much I would (including rear main seal). Serpentine belt is like $20/30 for the belt and not much of your time. Has the crankshaft seal gone out? Has the water pump gone out? Or they just trying to do more work while it's "easy"

I found with mine even discounted toyota rates (because it's already apart) were the same or more as sending it to my usual mechanic. Not much was saved the more I look at my bill. They will likely hit you with high prices at first, but talk to service manager and explain that you're not paying for full labour.

It's nice to have it back and everything is done and you basically have a new truck underneath.

There's a hole there. Don't be scared to pick at it, but don't go at it with a sledge either.
Go to the carwash with a pressure hose. The techs will appreciate it too...

If there's a 10mm hole anywhere else on the frame it qualifies for replacement.
IMO I'd leave the db lift off.

Thanks for the input guys. I've already had problems in the past with getting parts in this area for less than MSRP. They say it's a "district policy." So, I am already ordering a bunch of stuff from Sparks (like the serpentine belt) and plan on just handing it over to the local dealership. I have done all of the work on my truck up to this point, to include supercharger install, 7th, CAI, headers, lift, yada yada. The only exceptions are welding related...sliders and exhaust. So, I have a pretty damn good idea of what's going on and how long it should take a mechanic to wrench. The motor mounts, crankshaft seal, serpentine, and the water pump have not gone out and the dealership isn't pushing this (they may hope I come back at a later date for all of this for all I know). I am just thinking that it may make sense to do this now since the supercharger just makes it harder to access everything. Front motor mounts would cost me $160 from Sparks and take 10 minutes to change out with the motor removed. I will have to work with the dealership on realistic labor.

Kind of funny. A week after I got my truck back with a new frame, almost two months since the dealer quarantined it, I received a letter from Toyota explaining the Warranty Enhancement Program and what I should do.

So the dealership just let me know that they will replace my frame. They said they have to wait for the parts to come in. Does anyone know how long that usually takes?

Local dealership here is anticipating 30-60 days based on recent experiences and Corporate approval a week ago.

I own a 2013 Tacoma DCSB. The frame has been factory coated with some type of rust prevention. I plan to keep this truck for a long time. Thank goodness I live in the south, down here outside of the "rust belt". Do I really need to do anything to prevent long term corrosion and frame rusting? I hear some guys spray WD40 or pay to have their frames coated with rhino bed liner, but then I hear that just makes the problem worse by trapping moisture. Do I really need to do anything to prevent the rust monster from taking hold eventually?

So I was scraping off old undercoating today in prep of getting the truck rust proofed next week for winter. Came across this... Its right on the opposite side of the cab mount on the passenger side by the front wheel. Is there supposed to be a circular hole there that im not aware of? Had a frame inspection this spring and was told everything was okay. But the hole was hiding under the undercoating and you wouldnt of been able to see it unless you scraped it off.

That's a common spot to rot, it's close to the catalytic converters which the heat from expedites the process

Its rotted from the inside out too, you can see the bent metal piece on top is still attached, but underneath it has rotted all the way through the frame

Playing the waiting game till monday now.. nervous as to what theyll say. I know this will be a reoccurring problem even if I patch it. I was seeing some minor de-lamination on the frame in the back a few months ago and didnt think anything of it. Now its actually concerning
