Anyone know when the '16's will hit the dealers? I've heard several different dates.

None of them. But I will be thinking very hard when the 2018 models are here.
Make mine a TRD Sport V-6 PreRunner in Super White of course.:D

I have considered the f150 as well. What made you answer 2016 f150 over 2016 tacoma? My dad works at a ford dealership so I can get a fully loaded platinum for the price of a limited tacoma, so I am deciding between both of those (and just maybe a canyon if gm can get their act together for the 2016s). He works in the service department (great job security for him) so I can get the thing worked on by someone I trust always, which is a huge plus.

I will never have the need to tow/haul as much as the f150 does, but I also don't plan on parking the truck in the garage so the extra size won't hurt. MPG are basically a wash, and f150 v8 would be awesome to have over any v6. I am not an off roader so having the tacomas amazing off road ability isn't a necessity.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Sadly, I will be waiting for the Hertz edition, haha! But, when finances allow, I will probably look into one a few years down the road. Wait for them to work out the bugs of the new gen before I decide to get one. I would never buy a first year new generation anything because those are all the lab rats of the bunch. Toyota can only do so much testing and stuff on the new truck themselves, but it takes real world day to day driving by the general public to reveal what needs to be improved on and what doesn't.

Thank you, this is the most helpful thing I have found on this forum yet. I will still keep an eye out on the numbers for the 2016, I would be stupid not to, but it sounds like you have the exact same needs as me and an f150 seems to make a lot of sense.

Let's pray the Tacoma comes out with 25-30 mpgs and the decision gets made for me! Haha

Probably an SR base model, Double Cab, 4x4. If I can add a locker, great. Unsure of manual or auto.

I'd keep the '11, but the wife is tired of messing with the access cab, so I'm under orders to get a new one soon.

I'll be getting the 2016 DCLB w/ tow package & heated mirrors & better fuel mileage than any full size on the market.

Or maybe just the full size.

It's as much a thread as the (now locked) discussion on the merits of disc brakes, speculation on empegees, or whether the locker will smell like teen spirit. Insanity loves company.

I notice you brought your own chair.

OK I'll take the 1st Canadian model (that runs on maple syrup and beaver sh*t mixture)...

You can have the 1st American one that runs on an apple pie and Moonshine mixture...
