Ill chime in with the few other Duc fans here. I went the air cooled Monster route. I had a GSXR 600 before it and the two are night and day to me. I can still scare the crap out of myself with the little twins torque and cut the Colorado twisties with everyone else. At the end of the day I enjoy a much more comfortable ride and many more looks with the side/undertail Termis than the angry glares I got on my GSXR...

In the long run, get what makes you happy, sit on them all and test ride them if you can till you find the one that calls to you.

Suzuki sold more GSX-R's in America last February (in the winter, down economy) than Ducati has ever sold world-wide during their best year.

It's a tiny, hand-made product. So, you can have something, unique, hand-made, and special, or you can get a blue-and-white Gixxer and be just like all your buddies.

    A blue-and-white Gixxer is like a Silver, 4-door Tacoma. ;)

As a taller guy, (6'2) i thought the gixxer fit me the best. i had two '02s, a yellow/black and the telefonica editions and they were great. then i bought a red and black '05 which fit even better, and at the time was the only one of the big 4 to come with a solo seat cover and steering stabilizer, so bonus i guess. ive always liked hondas, but the 600rr seat was a joke for anything but the track, i got monkey butt just looking at it. At the shop i worked at we had a 1098 duc we got on trade that was the best sounding, looking, and lightest feeling bike on the showroom floor, but the thought of riding it around for a whole day on anything but the track didnt exite me, it was a very aggressive riding position. so i guess the advice id give would be go somewhere that sells them all, sit on them all, then make your decision, as the bikes in the list are so close in performance it really comes down to what your comfy on.
